Library TEKS

The core mission of the librarian is to teach information literacy skills, including developing a love of reading. Like other teachers, librarians have the responsibility to teach state standards that the legislature has adopted. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills define information literacy skills, and are embedded within the content subject areas. In collaboration with the classroom teacher and within the context of the content curriculum, librarians in RISD teach the following TEKS:
