Author Program

RISD strongly believes in bringing authors into our schools. During the week of the Literary Festival, all elementary and junior high schools have the opportunity for an author who will lead a TAKS writing workshop for 4th and 7th grade students. Selected high school students attend a 2 hour workshop lead by an award winning author.

In addition, many schools have visiting authors throughout the year. Authors bring a stronger appreciation for literature and the writing process to RISD students.
