First grade work on self selecting materials of a variety of forms to read and acquire information. Students are allowed to choose two books to take home and read. Books may be returned anytime for a fresh supply of books. Students will also listen to stories read aloud from a variety of literary forms such as fiction, informational books, poetry and biographies.
