Care |
|
Always protect
your library books.
Make sure your hands are clean before you pick up a book.
Find a safe place to keep them, like your locker or backpack.
Keep them away from the little kids that might draw in them or tear the
pages.
Do not write in the books, fold or tear the pages.
Let Mrs. Fox know as soon as you find something wrong with a book so she can
fix it.

Library Behavior |
|
Always use your
inside quiet voice.
Use the shelf markers correctly & return them to the basket when you are
ready to check out.
Do not run or jump around
Sit quietly during story time & do not bother the books on the shelves.
Wait your turn to check out.
|
| 3.
Shelf Markers |
|
Place the shelf
marker next to the book that interests you, then pull the book out to look
at it. If you decide not to check out the book, the shelf marker shows you
where it goes. If the shelf marker has fallen out, then return the book to
the Return Box.
Do not put the book on the shelf unless the shelf marker is
there.
|
| 4.
Fiction & Nonfiction |
|
Fiction books
are made-up stories using imagination that are shelved using the author's last name.
Nonfiction books are fact books (not fake) and are shelved by subject (what
they are about).
Some people remember this by
saying fiction = fake; nonfiction = not fake.
