How to cook a Turkey

 

The fourth grade art class worked with the library to learn about recipes and cook-books.  They learned how to locate cook-books in the library, how to read a recipe, and how to use the glossary to find out cooking terms and tools.  The class then went to work making up their own turkey recipe and drawing a picture of the finished product.

Information Need

Student will learn how to locate cook-books in the library.  They will learn how to use the glossary of a cook-book to become familiar with basic cooking terms. They will create their own recipes and pictures of a turkey dinner based on what they find.

(23) Social studies skills. The student communicates in written, oral, and visual forms. The student is expected to:

(D) create written and visual material such as journal entries, reports, graphic organizers, outlines, and bibliographies.
