Throw Your Tooth on the Roof:
Tooth Traditions from Around the World
by Selby Beeler
398 BEE
What do you do with your tooth when it falls out? Do you save it for the
tooth fairy? El Raton? If you lived in Korea (in Asia) you would throw your
tooth on the roof, and say "Blackbird, I give you my tooth. Now bring me a
new one!" In Central America, in the country of Costa Rica, boys and girls
give their teeth to their mother to have them made into earrings to wear!
Different countries have different customs or traditions regarding what
children do with their teeth. Wait until you find out the unusual custom in
Sweden and in Egypt!

Each Little BIrd That Sings
by Deborah Wiles FIC WIL
Did you read and enjoy Because of Winn Dixie by Di Camillo? I REALLY
REALLY loved the DOG! The dog in Each Little Bird That Sings is SO much like
Winn Dixie. He's lovable, friendly, loyal, AND he has a very important job
working where he lives -- at the Snowberger family's funeral home in
Snapfinger, Mississippi. Comfort (about 11 years old) loves her dog, just
about (or even more) than her best girlfriend, Declaration. There's humor
and sad parts in this book, which you won't want to put down, until you find
out why Comfort NEVER wants to see her cousin, Peach, again. |
