Fun Things To Do With Our Favorite Songs:

Old MacDonald Had a Farm- We use our online resource, Searchasaurus, to find pictures of animals. We save the picture to our Wallace Swap file. We get the picture from the Swap file and print it on Ms. Enriquez's color printer and make puppets to use while we sing the song. We also use construction paper and paper rolls to make a barn. We might surprise you with our choice of animals!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
- We will use this data page and look up the name of a real star using the link below.
http://www.obliquity.com/skyeye/misc/name.html

We will write the name of our star & its constellation on an old CD & hang it from the ceiling. We will also use chalk, star stickers and black construction paper to make our own constellations.

Itsy Bitsy Spider - We will use the spider book series by James Gerholdt to find the names of real spiders. Then we will use cardboard tubes & aluminum foil to make a water spout and yarn to make rain. We will draw our spider's body to match the pictures in the book while using pipe cleaners for the legs.

Ring Around The Rosie - We will use our library nonfiction books to answer two questions: Why do plants need flowers? and Why are flowers so pretty? We will use the computer to color famous artwork of flowers. We will read a story about Lady Bird Johnson and Texas wildflowers. We will draw pictures of Texas wildflowers, label  them & cut them out. We will make our own flowers out of various types of paper. We will make a paper pocket to hold our flowers. Online Resources:

"We Need" book series that Ms. Enriquez has saved.
3. Where can I find what I need?
We are learning to use the Table of Contents and the pictures in the books to find information.

Whatever we find in the books and what we have experienced in our life (we know what the dentist's office looks like).

5. How can I put my information together?
We're making a booklet! click here for the
Community Helpers booklet
(thanks to Bowie Elementary library)
